Dr Mirza Ikhtiar Baig, Federal Advisor on Textile, Government of Pakistan is meeting Governor SBP Syed Salim Raza on Monday 1st February 2010 to discuss the issues relating to textile industry.

Aptma, PDMEA, Prgmea and other textile associations have forwarded their issues to Federal Advisor Textile regarding 2.5 percent reduction in Export Refinance mark-up, payment of rebate @ 1 percent on fabric, 2 percent on home textile and 3 percent on garments on exports of textile products, swapping of LTFF, payment of 3 percent differential mark-up to spinning sector, relaxation in SBP prudential regulation and overall reduction in bank's lending rates are the key issues to be discussed in the meeting.

Dr Baig had expressed his concern to Governor SBP for the low off take of Private Sector Credit, which will be the main point of agenda of the meeting. Concerned Directors of SBP are also expected to attend this meeting who are provided the proposals of the textile associations for their remedial measures.
